The majority of people acts on impulse when choosing a dog, few people may get lucky and end up with a dog that’s fits perfectly to their lifestyle, one that fits into their life well, responsive, easy enough train and handle.

In this article, we will be discussing the various behaviors of humans that are also seen in dogs. To make a clever choice of what breed of dog will fit into your lifestyle, it’s best you know the characteristics of various breeds of dogs.


No doubts, there are people who find it very easy to learn a new skill, likewise dogs, there are breeds of dogs that can be trained to understand almost every command. However, some breeds are known to learn faster than other dogs – making them a lot easier to train. If you have these qualities, then you should consider being a Border Collie, Poodle, German Shepherd or an Australian Cattle dog.

These Einstein breeds pick up a command after only a few repetitions, they more often respond on the first time you introduce a new command. They also learn commands even when the trainer is inexperienced. Yea, just like in college, some students don’t need to study hard while some will spend a chunk of their time studying a particular course.


Have you been accused of being too protective or over caring? Bullmastiff, Doberman Pincher, Rottweiler, Komondor, German Shepherd, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Staffordshire Terrier, etc. these breeds of dogs protects their territory, which is why they are used as watchdogs. Their job is to bark and raise the alarm when a stranger enters your property. For those who find themselves being too protective when it comes to family and personal property are not too far from different from these breeds of dogs.

Friendly Toward Strangers

Stranger-friendly dogs will greet guests with a wagging tail and a nuzzle, in human, stranger-friendly people will greet strangers my shaking hands, saying nice words and even starting up a chat. All breeds of dogs can be trained to do these if they are exposed to lots of different types, shapes, sizes and ages of people from when they are still puppies. Although, there are still some special breeds of dogs that cannot hide their natural friendly attitudes such dogs include; Bearded Collie, Bedlington Terrier, Boxer, English Cocker Spaniel, American English Coonhound, etc. I think I belong to this group, what about you?


There are people who still crack jokes and play at the age of 65 and are not looking forward to stopping because they are naturally playful. Also, some dogs are perpetual puppies, always playful and begging for games.  English sprinter Spaniel, West highland white terrier, Papillion, Beagle and Labrador are some of the few dogs that enjoy playful and engaging activity throughout their lifetime.

Home alone

Are you the kind of person that like being left alone or can stays indoor for a whole day without going out? If yes, then you share the same traits with these self-confident dogs, Greyhound, Chihuahua, Basset Hound, Shar-Pei, Whippet. But they are not ideal for home alone kind of people. They are best suited for people who have a very busy job because these dogs can be left alone at home without being worried over loneliness or depression.
